Leading telecommunications company, MTN and Farmhouse Productions last Thursday launched season three of the annual Hit-Maker reality show and promised a cash amount of GH¢100,000 to be used by the winner to record an album.
The concept of the MTN Hit-Maker is to search for an underground musician with the best music talent and support the person with a cash amount to record and promote a complete album.
Chief Marketing Officer for MTN Rahul De, announced that the theme for season three is “Dream It, Live It” and said MTN introduced the Hit-Maker reality show so as to invest in talent development, especially in upcoming musicians.
At the launch of the season three it was announced that celebrated sound engineer, Hammer of ‘Last Two’ fame would replace Zapp Mallet as one of the three-resident judges while actress Peace Hyde would replace TV3 News anchor Nana Aba Anamoah as co-MC.
In the two previous seasons, the judges were Bessa Simons, seasoned musician and Vice President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Zapp Mallet, renowned sound engineer and instrumentalist and ace singer Ofei Kudjoe.
The launch of season three was also used to unveil two new singles from Koo Ntakra, winner of season two.
Organisers said amateur musicians who want to take part in the season three should submit their demos to the various MTN branch offices across the country, or upload the demos of MTNplay portal or drop them at the various partner radio stations.
