Beautiful and versatile Ghanaian top model, Doris Adom-Asomaning, who doubles as a TV presenter and Entrepreneur, has been appointed as Brand Ambassador for 2015 Fashion Icon Awards.
Fashion Icon Awards, an event organized by Global Dreams Management and powered by West Coast Entertainment Ghana Limited is a unique and glamorous celebration to recognize and reward stakeholders in the fashion industry.
The supermodel whose face has been in commercials for Frutelli, Printex and Bullet Energy Drink will henceforth be the face on all promotional materials on this year’s Fashion Icon Awards.
Doris who has a 10-year modeling experience, has modeled for most of the top named designers in Ghana and beyond; from the late Kofi Ansah, Christie Brown, Alphadi, Deola Sagoe, Stoned Cherie to Adebayo Jones, Paul Harve Elisabeth and Gilles Toure.
As the 2nd runner–up of the 2010 Top Model of the World, her legacy can be felt not only in Ghana but also internationally as she has competed in modeling competitions such as, Top Model Ghana 2006; emerging as top 15 out of 45 countries of the 2010 Top Model of the World.
The multi-talented model for her hard work, in 2012 won the Glitz Africa Fashion Week Female Model of the Year as well as nominated for female model of the year at 2014 Fashion Icon Awards.
To her credits, she has walked on the runway show for Vlisco, Woodin, Da Viva, GTP, Ghana @50 Fashion Show (Ghana and Egypt), not forgetting the launch of CAN 2008, Glitz Africa Fashion Week, FIMA and Catwalk the World (UN Charity Show).
Nominations for this year's awards will open to the general public on the event website from February 2, 2015 for the following categories:
- Brand of the year
- Accessory brand of the year
- Male personality of the year
- Female model of the year
- Male model of the year
- Contribution to fashion – Organization
- Contribution to fashion - Textile
The Industry Awards Night would be held in May 2015 while the Grand finale is scheduled for June 13 at Lifestyle Gallery, Spintex Road, Accra.
