Dormaa Ahenkro's rising star Taku Rabbi begins journey to musical success

Taku Rabbi, a Dormaa Ahenkro-based Afro-Pop musician, is steadily making waves not only in his city but also in the Bono Region at large as he entertains his kinsmen with banger after banger.

He says he started his music career in 2019, “but I got the opportunity to record in 2021. That was even my first time seeing a real studio microphone. I used to freestyle on downloaded beats and would post on social media until I finally got the chance to step into the studio.”

Known in the Ghanaian show business as “Trendhin Strainja,” the musician says he believes that he will someday be one of Ghana’s greats and that he will be trending for his exploits. Hence, his stage name “Trendhin.”

“I added ‘Strainja’ to the name ‘Trendhin’ because you will call me a stranger if you don’t know me, but by the moment you begin knowing me, I’ll be trending to you. That’s the story behind my name, Trendhin Strainja,’” he said.

Five years into the game, Trendhin Strainja has nine songs under his belt. His current song, 'Pull Up,' produced by Unicorn Beatz, is being promoted.

He told this reporter that although he is making gains in Bono and has home support from Dormaa Ahenkro, much more needs to be done. “The promotion of my songs is a Herculean task. I finance everything on my own, and that makes it very difficult for me,” he said.

Trendhin Strainja wants the attention media houses and promoters give to his contemporaries in Accra and Kumasi to be extended to those outside these two regions.

“Sure, they [fellow musicians] have many advantages over us. Most media houses with the largest audiences are located in those areas [Accra and Kumasi], including the best promoters, investors, and record labels.

“I believe it’s about time musicians, especially those outside Accra and Kumasi, get the opportunity to showcase their talents too,” he said.

Trendhin Strainja further urged the people of Bono and, for that matter, Dormaa Ahenkro, to keep doing their best to share his music on the various social media platforms.

He said his role model in Ghanaian showbiz is Kwesi Arthur. Trendhin is so self-motivated that “the future looks brighter. I walk with hope and trust in God, and I keep working harder each day.
