Last week Friday at a ceremony held by the Management of Happy 98.9 FM, a subsidiary of Global Alliance Media announced a new timetable for its entertainment programme, Showbiz Xtra, hosted by Dr Francis Cann.
Formerly broadcasted on Saturdays, 7am to 10am only, ‘Showbiz Xtra’ is now a triweekly show which effective took off on Monday, October 6, 2014, and was aired today, Wednesday October 8 at 2pm to 4pm respectively and at 7am every Saturday.
In an interview with the host of the show, Dr Cann said, “I am happy that together with my panellists efforts has been appreciated both by the management of Happy FM, the show’s sponsors and its listeners hence, the new timetable was reloaded among other programmes of the station.”
“Just as Showbiz Xtra has earned a triweekly airing time, the show has been rebranded with couple of new segments as initially, the show had less time to dive into pressing issues in the entertainment industry which is widening with interesting twists on daily basis,” he further indicated.
The reloaded ‘Showbiz Xtra’, an entertainment review show was launched last weekend at a ceremony where the Happy FM’s General Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Akromah announced that “Entertainment is very important to us in our programming and ‘Showbiz Xtra’ clearly has garnered lots of listeners far and wide and this we believe is due to the hard work of the host Docta Francis Cann and his producers and panellist.”
Adding, “The response we get from listeners, stakeholders and partners of the show is resounding and we know increasing the number of days the show airs, will make our listeners happier and more entertained and informed.”
At the launch of the new scheduling time for the leading entertainment review show were Kwasi Pee, Adolf Tagoe, Tagoe Sisters, Gasmilla, Wiyaala and many others.
