Information gathered by Peacefmonline.com states, then Pluzz FM’s top presenter Dr. Pounds would be replacing Reggae Musician and outspoken Radio Presenter Abubakar Ahmed aka Blakk Rasta as host of the “Taxi Driver” program on the Multimedia owned Hitz FM.
According to sources Dr. Pounds resigned from Pluzz 89.9 FM on Monday July 6, 2015, the same day Blakk Rasta also resigned from Hitz 103.9 FM.
Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that Dr. Pounds has concluded agreement with Hitz FM to join the station but he has not gone on air yet.
In a brief chat with Peacefmonline.com this morning, Dr. Pounds confirmed his resignation from Pluzz FM and he also confirmed joining Hitz FM but he could not tell if he was going to replace Blakk Rasta as host of “Taxi Driver”.
Asked why he resigned from Pluzz FM, Dr. Pounds said he just wanted to move on and take a different challenge on the radio scene after working with the station for the past five years.
“I have no problem at all with Pluzz FM I am still a friend to the station but I just wanted to give myself a new challenge in the radio industry”.
As to what program he would be hosting on Hitz FM Dr. Pounds said “I will do whatever management decide because I am ready to serve Multimedia so anything they will ask me to do as to bring the aim of the company, I am all for it”.
Dr. Pounds born Maximous Addae Mensah started radio in 2003 at Cape Coast based Eagle 87.7 FM where he hosted the drive time program with Kwabena Marfo who is now with Peace FM and he also hosted a Rap show on the same station and he won the best DJ in Central region in 2007. He joined Pluzz FM in 2010 as host of ‘Pluzz Extra’ Monday –Friday 7-10pm and ‘Hip-hop GH’ on Saturdays 3-7pm. He also hosted ‘Friday Popping’ on Friday evenings 7-10pm.
For now Dr. Pounds is waiting to see where management of Hitz FM would put him.
