A 27 year-old driver, Kwaku Amankwa has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour by Begoro Community Tribunal for robbing a passenger of 400,000 cedis.
He pleaded guilty and his accomplice, Yaw Opoku is on the run.
Prosecuting, Inspector Nicholas Anim-Oduro told the tribunal that on April 22 Amankwa brought an Opel Vectra Saloon car to Begoro to convey passengers to Apaa.
A passenger, Mr Joseph Kwadjo Tawiah, who is also a Pastor, left his wallet containing 400,000 cedis and a Holy Bible in the car.
When he asked Amankwa about the items he told him he had not found them. Some onlookers assisted Mr Tawiah to search the car and they found an empty wallet and the Bible.
