Tema, April 25, GNA- A 42-year-old driver who allegedly had sex with twin sisters leaving one dead and another pregnant, has been remanded by the Tema circuit court "B".
Teye Amanin who pleaded not guilty to defilement will reappear on May 4.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi told the court that about five years ago, the accused went and stayed with the complainant who is the father of the twin sisters at Adumanya.
Unknown to the complainant the accused was having sex with the elder of the twins and she became sick of some strange disease and died.
Chief Inspector Gyamfi said about eight months ago, the complainant realised that his surviving and junior twin daughter, aged 14, was pregnant.
The girl told the father that the accused had sex with her under a mango tree near their house and any time he had sex with her, he would warn and threaten her not to tell anyone.
The prosecution said the complainant reported the case to the police and when the accused was arrested, he allegedly admitted the offence in a statement.
Chief Inspector Gyamfi said a medical report on the victim showed that the girl was raped resulting in the pregnancy.
