Accra, Oct.15, GNA - Simone Badagbor, a driver was on Wednesday sentenced to 50 months imprisonment with hard labour on his own plea of guilty for attempting to steal a car at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital.
Prosecuting Inspector Emmanuel T. Boison told the court, presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Ankamah that the complainant Mr. Wahab Andoh is an accountant at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
On October 9, this year, he parked his Toyota Saloon Car in front of the Children's ward at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and locked all the doors of the car and left for the office.
At about 6:40pm, whiles returning from work, the complainant saw that the lights in his car had been switched on. Prosecution said the complainant became suspicious and rushed to his car only to see Badagbor on the drivers seat and attempting to spark the car.
Bagadgbor immediately sneaked out and took to his heels on seeing the complainant but was apprehended by security personnel at the hospital and handed over to the police.
Prosecution said Police investigation showed that Badagbor had damaged the door of the car.
