Comedian DKB has expressed that his colleagues in the creative arts industry have stayed silent on national issues, including the recent power challenges, due to their ties with the current government.

He believes they fear biting the hand that feeds them, having benefited from their association with the ruling party.

Expressing his frustration, DKB highlighted the absence of his colleagues during times of advocacy, contrasting it with their active participation during previous administrations.

He criticized those who claim neutrality while showing clear partisan colors, calling it deceptive.

“You pose yourself as neutral and we believe you. We did it in NDC time, NPP is here and we want to do it again to get our rights and they are nowhere to be found," he stated.

He further stated, "Of course, we know that you’ve shown party colours and you’ve benefitted from it, therefore, you can’t come and bite the finger that feeds you. All I want to say is there is no problem showing your party colours. Some of us are neutrals, we don’t care and we will come out to speak at the right time.

"So don’t act like a neutral when you’re not because it is annoying and deceptive. We are here and where are they?.”

Yvonne Nelson led a recent vigil to address the power crisis, reminiscent of the Dumsor Must Stop Vigil during the previous administration.

However, the turnout fell short of expectations, indicating a reluctance among some to voice their concerns publicly.
