‘East Legon accident was murder, manslaughter!' - Arnold Asamoah Baidoo

Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has voiced his strong opinions over the ghastly motor accident at East Legon which caused the death of two children.

The incident occurred when 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, lost control of a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) and collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23).

The collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, resulting in two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, who were in the Acura being burned beyond recognition.

Speaking on the October 19, 2024 edition of United Showbiz, a teary Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, said, "For me, I don't think what happened was an accident. That was murder, manslaughter, it was highly intentional."

Citing the case of the devastating helicopter crash that claimed the lives of American basketball star Kobe Bryant and his daughter, he described the impact the incident would have on the families involved.

"There's a high possibility that the parents of these children will not be the same again. It will mess them up to the extent that they will not be able to recover.

“In this case, the parents were not even there to offer solace to the children. Can you imagine such a scenario?" he asked.

Following the accident, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested on October 15 and were later granted bail of ¢50,000 each.

A video of Salifu Amoako apologising to the families of the deceased popped up on social media but was met with mixed reactions.

On October 18, a teary vigil was held at the accident site in memory of the two girls.
