Edem’s “Fie Fuor”, is easily the most popular record published in the past week. And it is not for nothing, for it resonates with a wide section of Ghanaians, and illustrates the daily struggles of people trying to succeed at anything.

The song also speaks to a Ghanaian belief system deeply-rooted in superstition, pleading for whichever spiritual forces stalling progress to let go.

Accompanying visuals to the joint were directed by famed Ghanaian video director Nana Kofi Asihene for the artist’s VRMG label.

Born Denning Edem Hotor, the recording artist, since his 2009 break out, has remained highly-admired in Ghanaian music circles and beyond.

He is author of critically received albums as Volta Regime, Mass Production, and Books and Rhymes, as well as numerous singles including Ghetto Arise, Heyba, Bougez, Bra Fremi Fremi, Nyedzilo, Kpordawoe, The One, Koene, Wicked and Bad, Gogaga among others.

His new album, “The African Answer” is due for release this year.
