Edem has proven his mettle in the game with the corporate launch of his third studio album, dubbed "Books and Rhymes " at the Holiday Inn.

In an industry where most rappers who lack confidence in the ability to sell albums, would hold a launch at a club hoping to make some money from ticket sells, Edem chose a different path deciding that his album launch be a strictly by invitation affair. The invited guests in attendance included Anita Erskine, who was the chairman, KOD and Peace Hyde who were the MCs, Comedian David Oscar who had the crowd in stitches, X.O Senavoe, Nana Yaa serwaa Sarpong and a host of other celebrities and media persons.

The event began on time, as David Oscar picked the mic and went straight for the kill. Emblems of Hennesy, Club beer, African Cola and other corporate entities around symbolized belief in Edem and association with the launch. KOD carried the night through with spectacular delivery aided by curvy Peace Hyde.

Edem took the microphone and gave the crowd a Live-Band feel of materials on the album backed by the Afro-Harmony band. This was an unprecedented act, as Edem executed this task with excellence making one feel like they were at a live studio recording session for each track. Joining him first was Stonebwoy who exuded energy as they performed "Go harder", other performers included Kaakie, Akwaboah, Lil Shaker Kesse and Gemini who was invited to rock the crowd with Edem. During one performance, Edem was signaled to wrap up the performance, however the love for his art and fans, drove him to go on and on; he became a slave to the music and a god over the melody.

Edem finally took a pause and the album was unveiled, the album artwork spoke maturity and growth, driving patrons to purchase framed copies for thousands of cedis, these patrons included KOD, Kojo Kantanka and Tony. Edem was again possessed by the music, as he grabbed the mic and dished carefully cooked lyrics from tracks such as "The One” and "Koene" , the elated crowd seemed to have caught Edem's rhythmic fever as they stood up and sang along.

The launch was at this point rounded up and patrons were ushered into a plush cocktail, this was an opportunity to network and discuss; most patrons discussed Edem's audacious actions over sumptuous bites. His ability to release a 26 track album speaks volumes of the trust he has in his fans and his art, the album also features 16 of Africa's hottest acts, including Samini, M.I, Casper Novyest, Iceprince Zamani, Ice Queen Cleo, Black Prophet and others. This production also features 11 producers. Edem has begun a revolution that will give new life to the industry; a fact hinted at by hiplife grandpapa Reggie Rockstone in a video played at the launch. The Books and Rhymes album promises to be a foundation on which the temple of African music shall be erected.
