Hot on the heels of being announced as the Absolut Vodka Artist of The Year, Edem is set to headline a fund raising concert for his alma mater, Bishop Herman College (BIHECO) on Friday, May 26. The concert which will take place in the spacious Complex Hall of the school in Kpando, is being put together as a collaborative effort between Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU 2003 year group) and BHOBU National, 60th Anniversary Planning Committee of BIHECO, Volta Regime Music Group and Volta Regime Foundation.
Adjomah Xorse Joshua of BHOBU 2003 year group and one of the organizers of the concert comments: “We (BHOBU 2003) were discussing ways to help improve upon the infrastructural development of our alma mater and also inspiring the current batch of students in BIHECO so we came up with the idea of a fund raising concert. After further deliberations, Edem’s name came up tall to be a perfect headliner because he is an old boy and as well has a socially responsible image to inspire the students so it led to and facilitated the collaborative works between the old boys and Edem’s music outfit.”
The fund raising concert will also feature artistes such as Eduwoji, Gemini, Odeshe (Volta Regime Music) and many others. Mcs for the night will be Giovani Caleb of Yfm who is an Old Boy and Okudjeto “Slim” Percy of Oman fm/Net @ TV also an Old Boy. Students from other sister schools in the region especially OLA Girls School, Mawuli School, Keta Secondary School, St. Mary’s Boys Seminary, Kpando Secobdary School, Mawuko Girls, St. Pauls and others will also be in attendance.
Edem has made significant impact on the music scene ever since releasing his Volta Regime album under Hammer’s Last Two Music Group with hits such as Nyornuviade, Keva (Bougez), Bra fremi, among others. His new album, Mass Production, is making waves all over with hits like Ghetto Arise, Over Again, Heyba and many more. Edem returns to the school that somewhat honed his music genes this Saturday to contribute his quota to its infrastructural development by headlining a fund raising concert.
