Popular gospel music producer, Kwesi Ernest, has called for more efforts to sustain the band formed by the late gospel legend, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, alias KODA.

In a recent interview with Metro TV, he expressed concern that, as seen in the music industry's history, the absence or death of leading artistes often leads to the decline of their projects.

“I know that KODA had a band. And I'm saying that it's important for us to sustain that band.

“If you look at history, like most of the time, all the top artistes, the moment they are off the scene, all the things that they left behind go down,” he said.

Citing how the band was involved in a memorable collaboration between Nacee and KODA, which resulted in a major hit, Kwesi Ernest said the band has been a significant part of the local music scene.

“That strong band that he formed in the Western Region was giving us annual concerts… It was at one of those concerts Nacee was invited, and then Nacee and KODA did that big hit,” he said.

"I'm hoping that the band will be able to sustain that kind of spirit that he left behind in his memory," he said.

He hopes that the band will honour KODA's memory by maintaining the energy and passion he brought to the music world.
