Efya, Daasebre and others end Golden Tulip’s 7 days of Christmas on a high

The Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra entered into the New Year, 2011 on the heels of a successful rollercoaster of events designed to give patrons and guests the best of entertainment, food, drinks, and relaxation for the festive season.

The 7 days of Christmas affair started with a Christmas Eve Dinner on December 24. It was a buffet of traditional and continental cuisine in the new Branche restaurant with soothing piano music. This was followed on Christmas day with and exotic buffet lunch with piano music in the restaurant and live music from the Zuum Band at the poolside. The fun continued through the day into the evening with Christmas buffet dinner with live Combo and welcome drinks; and special gifts from Santa for the kids.

The Boxing Day came with barbecue lunch with DJ at the poolside while the Branche restaurant offered guests a delightful section of barbecued meats with music by evergreen Ghanaian super gospel group, the Tagoe Sisters. There was later a buffet dinner at the restaurant with live combo and performance by Efya.

The following Monday and Tuesday was designated as Kids and Family day with tennis tournaments for adults, tennis clinic, bouncing castles, snooker and other fun games. As always, there was a scrumptious entrée of food to replenish the lost energies and revitalize the soul. On Monday, Wellington Jazz spiced up the evening with some soulful music while the dynamic songstress Efya teamed up with renowned keyboardist, Kwame Yeboah for a jamming session at the Branch restaurant and lounge on Tuesday evening.

On New Year’s even the hotel presented a night of complete indulgence with its ‘All Stars Night’. The festive buffet opened with welcome drinks and followed by soothing music from the unassuming Daasebre Gyamenah. Ghana’s singing sensation Efya also rocked the stage with suave while guests enjoyed a fine dining and wining experience.  Funnyman Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) provided some much needed laughs before handing over to highlife legend Paapa Yankson to usher in the New Year with more delightful music. At the stroke of midnight, the skies were field with an amazing display of fireworks. Paulina Oduro brought the performances to a close, and from there on it was party all night long as the DJ played a find selection of oldies and made a musical journey to the new. With lots of dancing, jumping into the pool and display of love and affection in the air, the New Year’s champagne breakfast was served from 2 am -6 am with accompanying performances by growing Ghanaian jazz singer, Sandra Husson.

The festivities and cuisines continued through to the 7th day of Christmas, Sunday January 2, climaxing with a live band session at the poolside. Golden Tulip hopes to provide a wonderful and improved experience for all its guests in the New Year!
