Accra, Oct 9, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Thursday sentenced Isaac Yaw Danso, a 24 years old electrician, on his own plea of guilty, to 144 months' imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a 14 years old girl. Police Inspector Emmanuel Tawiah Boison told the Court chaired by Mr Emmanuel Ankamah that the victim was still on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after her ordeal.

He said both the accused and victim resided at Kwashieman and about a month ago, the victim was sent by her mother to deliver some money to her landlord in the night.

The Prosecution said on her return, the victim met Danso, who emerged from a secluded place and called her but she refused but Danso dragged the victim and forcibly defiled her.

The Prosecution said the victim did not inform her mother about her ordeal but on October 2, she was taken ill and when she was sent to hospital it was discovered that she had been defiled.

Police Inspector Boison said the victim mentioned the accused as the culprit.
