One of the hallmarks of a celebrity is the ability to turn negative publicity into positive expose’ and one person who has been able to live it is the celebrated actress, Emelia Brobbey.
The actress, who has been doing such humanitarian and philanthropic works with her organization, ‘Emelia Brobbey Charity Organization’ has raise an amount of GHc6,000 within a spate of three (3) weeks as support for the building of a childrens’ home for the Patmos Childrens’ Home at Tewobaabi, a suburb of Obuasi.
Over the weekend, the actress and her organization organized a well-attended programme dubbed, ‘The Obuasi Kiddiefest’ at the Anyinam Lodge, Obuasi in a bid to raise the funds for the development and completion of the building for Patmos Childrens Home.
The very well attended event saw thousands of children, parents, teachers and pupils from all schools in Obuasi and saw the likes of Kumawood stars including Kyeiwaa, Brother Sammy, Michael Afranie, Sunsum, Maame Serwaa and Yaw Dabo, who were present to show their support for the project.
Also present at the event was Hon.John Alexander Ackon, Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
The music group, Ruff n’ Smooth were present to perform at the event that was supported by the likes of Indomie, The End Hotel, Endpoint Homeopathic Clinic, Yazz, Curtains Plaza, Money Pee, Kenzad and others.
