Veteran Ghanaian Gospel musician Georgia Adjei recently opened up about how fellow musician Empress Gifty Adorye 'saved her life' during a difficult time after a surgery.
In a video shared by Zionfelix.net, the ‘Ebenezer’ singer recounted how she was left with only GH₵30 after her surgery and was advised by doctors to eat regularly.
Facing financial difficulties, Madam Adjei decided to visit news broadcaster Kojo Dickson at Angel FM to ask for help, as he is like a brother to her.
"When I got to the station, I saw Empress Gift descending from the stairs, then she saw me and was like 'I thought you travelled,' meanwhile I was in the hospital," she said.
During their conversation, Gifty learned about Adjei's situation and immediately offered her financial assistance, giving her money for transportation.
"She quickly went to her car, brought out GH₵1,000 and gave it to me. I was even shy to take it," she added.
Adjei accepted the money, which proved to be a lifesaver when she couldn't reach Kojo Dickson. She used the money to buy food, which lasted her for a week.
"That money saved my life. I was able to buy foodstuffs that lasted me for more than a week," she said.
In the video, Georgia Adjei expressed her gratitude to Gifty and blessed her, also presenting her with a portrait as a token of appreciation.
