Nkurasefo Hiplife is the genre in music industry that is forever springing surprises. When it started many were those who thought that it was too funky to stand on its own as a genre in Ghanaian music.

The reason was that its rhythm was computer based and therefore not authentically Ghanaian.

Today, hiplife has disproved all these earlier criticisms and has gained new convert in all age grouping who can hardly do without this brand of music.

One other interesting thing about this genre is that it has a special appeal for the youth of this country who are the main players in this brand of music. It is creating employment for them and the sheer numbers of the youth entering it makes the competition even keener.

As part of their introduction, the MC said among other things that they were looking for a producer.

Not only did they get their producer but when the audience requested that they be brought to perform again, they had been whisked to an unknown destination for negotiations to begin between the group and their new manager.

The name Nkurasefo sure is irritating and not the kind that a hiplife group would like to be associated with.

But one begins to understand the Santasi based group as they take to the stage to start their performance.

They begin with a hong rustic rap that can only belong to the hamlet in the Countryside but when they take off proper, they are a sheer delight to watch and listen to.

They took everybody at the Sir Charles Resort by surprise and if that is the way they are going to play the game then the Lord Kenyas, Obrafours, Buk Baks, VIPs, Batmans, Akyeames, Kwaadees, Tic Tacs, Kokovellis and K.K. Fosus would have to watch out.
