Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Episode is on the heels of popular Dancehall Artiste Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known by his stage name Samini for GH¢10.000 promised cash.
Episode said he might be tempted to sue Samini and the High Grade Family for betraying him publicly following a promise Samini made during the former’s Album launch in Accra.
Samini pledged to support Episode’s career with an amount of GH¢10,000 but he seems to be reneging on the promise.
Samini’s manager is purported to have denied that Samini made the pledge.
But speaking on Ultimate FM’s E-Review hosted by Naa Klordey Odonkor, Episode said they would sue Samini if he does not pay the said money, describing Samini’s manager’s statement a sad one.
According to him, they have a video recording of Samini making the pledge and wondered why Samini’s manager would turn round to deny the promise.
A disappointed Episode intimated that he trusted Samini and that he had so much hope in him to fulfill his part of the bargain.
The ‘No war’ crooner explained that he buried the issue due to his relationship with Samini but could not hide it any longer from the public when all efforts to trace Samini proved futile.
This, he believed would have prevented their fans from twisting the issue and mar their relationship.
‘I am super cool with Samini, there is no rift between me and Samini,…me and Samini we go way back, he is like a father to me… I wanted to cover up because fans sometime twist issues, we are unable to reach him, the fact is all his phone numbers I have don’t go through, for sometime now we have not really spoken, because he is always on the run,’ he said.
Asked if he is going to take the money from Samini, he calmly said ‘why not we are all working for money, the fact that is fashion we are also working to get food on the table, … I don’t want people to have the misconception that I am chasing Samini around for my money, no,… no disrespect to Samini, Tony and High Grade family but it’s quite sad for his manager Tony to deny that Samini made the pledge because there are pictures, videos, witnesses and everybody who was at the launch bear witness to it.
If it has to get to that level of going to court why not, we will go to court, but what I want people to understand is this shouldn’t bring issue between us, dancehall itself has already has its own rivalry and am not ready to pick up rivalry with anybody, if Tony says they didn’t pledge anything, we dey and Jah lives,’ he said.
