Ghanaian actor and staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) member Prince David Osei has expressed doubts about the prophecies and prayers some pastors have showered on NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, presenting him as a viable candidate for the upcoming December 7 elections.

In a post on X, Prince David Osei insisted that even if all the pastors in the country were to pray and anoint Mahama, he would not regain the presidency.

"Let me share a brief perspective. Even if all the pastors were to pray and anoint Ex-President Mahama, he would not regain the presidency," he said.

Defending the NPP against claims that the galamsey menace has intensified under their watch, the actor emphasised that it is a national concern not limited to the NPP, but also involving the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and other influential figures.

He said the menace has been a longstanding issue in Ghana, with research indicating that the fight against illegal mining has been unsuccessful due to its political nature.

"The ongoing propaganda tactics against the NPP, including accusations of involvement in illegal mining, will not succeed. The issue of illegal mining involves individuals from both NDC and NPP, politicians, pastors, and the public. Some of us are not mere observers; our prayers are impactful. Pay attention and consider the facts, he added."

Meanwhile, criticisms have intensified after Owusu-Bempah publicly prayed for John Mahama, projecting him as the next chosen leader of the country.

In response, several NPP members, including Chairman Wontumi, condemned the prophet for perceived disloyalty and betrayal.
