After speculations about the split of Ghana’s controversial but artistic music group FOKN Bois, a member of the duo, Mensa Ansah also known as M3nsa, has dispelled the rumours but discloses the release of his solo project dubbed RedRed in April.
M3nsa, in an interview with Ismail Akwei, said FOKN Bois is much more dynamic than people seem to realise and they are still working together on project ideas.
M3nsa’s RedRed project is a joint enterprise with Budapest’s seasoned DJ, music producer and instrumentalist ELO, known for his works with Irie Maffia and Sena. ELO has worked with FOKN Bois in 2012 on ‘Dunaquest In Budapest’ with which they toured both Europe and Ghana.
To prove the inseparable force of the duo FOKN Bois, M3nsa further disclosed that Wanlov shot the video for one of the songs on the RedRed project and also featured on one of the songs.
“Currently, Wanlov is working on his album while RedRed is yet to release the first single from the project, which is titled ‘Ghetto’, in the first week of April,” M3nsa said.
‘Ghetto’ which features Ghana’s ‘Rapperholic’, Sarkodie, will be released next week concurrently with its energetic video shot in Accra showcasing sizzling yet entertaining animated dance scenes. The video was directed by Bubi Cooke of Infoboxx TV.
M3nsa and ELO’s project RedRed fuses dance music influences from their European and African connections pushing the dial back to charged up 90s House, warbly Garage Basslines and Dreamy Synths.
