Highlife legend, Nana Kwame Ampadu has stated that he was hated when he pledged his support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) some years ago before the 2008 general elections.

According to Nana Ampadu in an interview on Storm FM last Saturday with DJ Murphy Lee on Entertainment Extra, he said that his fans hated him for joining NDC and refused to patronize his music amidst condemning his personality.

"My fans hated me for joining NDC, refused my music and condemned my personality. After some years, I declared my support for the NPP and yet I was neglected by my fans. I have the belief that as Ghanaians we all have equal rights to choose and belong to any party. We should also know that Ghana is for us all".

Talking about royalties for musicians, Nana commended the efforts of MUSIGA and GAMRO for the payment of royalties to musicians.

"I receive 100cedis a month for credit. This started last year. The welfare body of GAMRO is doing well ensuring the well-being of each member. I recall they visited Ewurama, Papa Yankson, and others in their time of need".
