The ‘Starr Woman Project’ which aims at equipping young women entrepreneurs with relevant knowledge to realise their potential has been hailed by women advocates in Ghana.

The project which was launched on The Zone hosted by the ebullient Naa Ashorkor of Starr 103.5FM was graced by three distinguished women in the Ghanaian society – broadcaster Gifty Anti, co-founder and chief technical officer of Logiciel, Farida Bedwei and co-host of Gh Today Baisiwa Dowuona Hammond.

The ‘Starr Woman Project’ is an extension of 'The Zone' which seeks to equip young women entrepreneurs with the relevant knowledge, skill and motivation to achieve their fullest potential as entrepreneurs.

The idea is to tap into the expertise and get inspiration from success stories of industry experts and young achievers. “We believe that every woman has the potential to be a ‘Starr’” organisers said.

Speaking during the launch, Oheneyere Dr. Gifty Anti said: “You can be working for someone and still be a ‘starr’. People will help you if you're really determined. Women are not each other’s enemy, we are not in competition, we complement each other.”

“There's no need going through the same mistakes others have made, so mentorship is important, let other people tell you about what they've passed through so you learn valuable life lessons,” Bedwei stated.

On her part, Baisiwa noted: “We need to let our young girls know that it is not a man's world, God created us equal. I believe women at the top should try bringing others on board.”

The CEO of EIB Network, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray), on behalf of EIB donated 1,300 books to the Awo Dansoa reading project.
