The people of Kontonso, a farming community in the Nkoranza District were thrown into a state of fear and grief when a man murdered his wife, his baby boy and a 15 year-old girl.
Gunsi Kofi Dagarti, a 36 year-old farmer is reported to have fled into the bush after shooting to death his 30-year-old wife, Adwoa Fabea, and a 15-year-old primary six pupil, Raphael Garlie, before clubbing his eight month old son being carried by Fabea.
Mr Samuel Acheampong Meene, assembly member for the area told newsmen at Nkoranza on Wednesday that last Sunday's gruesome act has disrupted farming activities as the people fear to go to their farms.
He said teachers of the local Junior Secondary School have also fled to Nkoranza while parents have stopped their children from going to school.
Mr Meene alleged that Kofi Dagarti way-laid his wife while she was going to farm and shot her at close range.
Garlie, a pupil of Ejura Freewill Preparatory School, who was riding to school, bumped into the incident and was shot in the back as he tried a quick U-turn to escape.
The assembly member said an eyewitness to the incident rushed to the town and reported but the suspect escaped before people arrived on the scene.
He appealed to the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council to help arrest the suspect.
A senior police officer at Nkoranza told newsmen that messages have been sent to all police stations for the arrest of Kofi Dagarti.
