Barely a week after pay-per-view channel CineAfrik started airing hit television programme Fashion 101, Charterhouse’s entertainment television channel GhOne, will from next week, also start airing the 30-minute show every Sunday at 3.30pm.
This brings to three the number of stations currently airing Fashion 101. The producers have also hinted that two major channels will soon be added to the number in the coming weeks.
Apart from GhOne, Fashion 101 also airs every Saturday on TV3 at 8:30am and 9:30pm on CineAfrik on Multi TV. Fashion 101 continues to receive enormous reviews from the city’s trendy population as well as Ghana’s A-List celebrities.
The decision to have the show aired on as many platforms as possible the show’s producers have said, was informed by the overwhelming requests from viewers, and a broad spectrum of the fashion community.
The overarching purpose according to Executive Producer and hostess Sandra Ankobiah “is to ensure that everybody can be part of that big club of dedicated Fashion 101 viewers”. “GhOne obviously, will serve a section of our viewing audience, and this for us, is most important since they can also get the opportunity to choose which channel they are most comfortable with, to watch the show”.
Fashion 101 typically treats viewers to two segments; the first, Star Watch, where a panel including hostess Sandra and some two or three others, dissect and analyze the fashion statements made by Ghanaian celebrities, during their various public outings.
The second segment is the make-over session, where an individual is selected by the show’s producers, and made to undergo a beauty transformation. This process is handled by some of Ghana’s trusted names in fashion designing as well as Fashion 101’s in-house make-up stylist Maames.
In a related development, last weekend’s episode, the fifth of some thirteen for Season One, saw VIASAT 1’s One Show co-host Jocelyn Dumas, voted as the best dressed celebrity during the Star Watch segment.
Other celebrities including Yvonne Okoro, Gloria Sarfo of Efiewura fame, Ramsey Nouah, Desmond Elliot, Frank Artus, KOD and Efya amongst a host of others, also had their various outfits, carefully and constructively scrutinized.
Up and coming actress Zynell Zuh, was given a complete make-over treat by guest designer Sydikat Buari during the make-over segment. The 30-minute programme is executive produced and hosted by Sandra Ankobiah.
Fashion 101 is powered by Emerald Paradise Productions, with support from the Aviation Social Centre.
