With the success of Fashion Forum Ghana’s 1st and 2nd Quarter talks this year, Fashion Forum Ghana (FFG) will hold its 3rd Quarterly Panel Discussion on Thursday, 29th September, 2016 from 5PM-8PM at British Council in Accra, Ghana on the topic: Start up’s, Is fashion a Risky Business? Is fashion a risky business for banks in Ghana to invest in? How can we work with angel investors and microfinance companies? What are the alternatives that exist?

A stellar panel of global fashion experts who will come together to discuss the topic include: Papa Oppong (Graduate Class 2015, Radford University on Start Up’s), Mrs. Linda Ampah (CEO, Cadling Fashions on Mass Production, Wholesale and Exporting), Ghana Exports and Promotion Authority on Government Support, Stanbic Bank Ghana on Finance and a Special Video Presentation from Mr. Leslie Bentil (CEO, Gutta Soles on Crowd Funding), with the effervescent award winning journalist Esther Armah leading the discussion as the Moderator.

The debut was in partnership with the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts on the Ghana Culture Day events held at the National Theatre on the topic: The Legal Usage of the name “Ghana” in Fashion Identities and Branding. The 2nd talk was on Globalizing Ghanaian Fashion and the Importance of Global Branding and Self-Identifying as a Ghanaian or African Designer in a Globalized Fashion Industry and was held at the British Council.

Fashion Forum Ghana (FFG), in its efforts to formalize, educate and build the fashion industry in Ghana as a significant and reputable national resource amongst the Arts and Culture in Ghana, created this quarterly talk series to tackle the important topics and concerns of the Ghanaian fashion business community, in creating a comprehensive policy to benefit the growth and job creation of the fashion industry in Ghana.

Fashion Forum Ghana (FFG) with its dynamic founder Ms Makeba Boateng, who was just inaugurated into the interim Creative Arts Council is committed to building on and continuing this educational path with its quarterly series of fashion talks. This is done through open forums that gather fashion professionals to attain informative education, share ideas, and discuss important topics that are significant to building the Ghana Fashion Industry.
