Some personalities in Ghana’s music and fashion industries are expected to meet at Reggie Rockstone’s DJango Bar for the biggest fashion event in the month of April.

The charity show dubbed, ‘CompFashion 2014; Kill The Stigma’ is slated for April 10.

‘CompFashion 2014; Kill The Stigma’ is to raise funds for Human Compassion Organization, a Ghana based orphanage. It is also aimed at campaigning against the stigmatization of people living with HIV and AIDS.

Human Compassion Organization used to be managed by Linda Mensah and Joyce until they died of AIDS in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Over the years, volunteers from all over the world have been visiting the orphanage to offer support. This year, event and artist manager Ida Kroell is teaming up with Michael Mensah, the CEO of the organization and the jewellery brand Adeshie to raise funds through the CompFashion event for the orphanage to buy its own land and build a house.

The likes of Nigerian fashion photographer Oscar Ejowhomu from England, top model and trainer Theodora Brodie-Mends, C.E.O and Manager of Lemonade Model Agency Marcellinus Cody Kwashie, C.E.O of Odiahemaa Clothing Ventures Dorenda Fosua, Just Glay and Werdna Solutions are all part of Team CompFashion.

CompFashion 2014 will be displaying collections from three innovative Ghanaian fashion designers whose works will be worn by well-known and upcoming models.

Two inmates from the orphanage will walk the runway wearing clothes from the collections. Also, a photo documentary of the kids from the orphanage will be displayed to remind people about the message of the campaign.

MCs will be Walker Y and Eva Aikins.

Ida Kroell told NEWS-ONE that donations could be made online or in cash throughout the event, at the door or in envelopes that can be found around the bar.

She added, “There were future plans to make CompFashion 2014 a great annual campaign and event. Next campaign will take place November 2015 in New York City, USA.”
