Kumasi, Sept. 29, GNA - Three persons from the Ashanti Region, were on Thursday presented prizes for winning the Ghana Post (GP) commemorative stamp and quiz competition in honour of the Black Stars qualification to the World Cup at a ceremony in Kuamsi.
The winners are, Ralph Kofi, a 38-year-old shop owner at Suame, who was adjudged the national second runner-up. He received a double-decker deep freezer.
The rest were Justice Nana Bugyei, a student, who placed 10th and 12th positions. He received an electric iron and some souvenirs from the GP and Master Isaac Oduro, also a student, won the 6th position and received a rice cooker as his prize.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Yaw Addo Larbi, Ashanti Regional Director of GP, said the commemorative stamps, which depicted the effigies of the Black Stars players, motivated them in their performance at the just ended world cup in Germany.
He said the Black Stars exploit had brought honour to the country and its people and said the quiz competition, which was very transparent, had also brought hope to many Ghanaians, who participated in it. Mr Larbi said the GP was transforming itself to offer educative and efficient services to Ghanaians especially school children to enable them play and win prizes, while at the same time learning. Mr Ralp Kofi thanked the company and said the competition had been very transparent and advised all Ghanaians to participate in future raffles and competitions of the company.
