Feature: Where is the wow factor in Samini’s Music?

Samini Proud Samini

Over so many years, music lovers have one way or the other danced or tapped our fit to the music or rhythm of the legendary Ghanaian dancehall artiste called Samini.

He’s released quite a number of albums and numerous songs. His stage performances are always rated as a topnotch kind of performance due to his control over every bit of his songs and the crowd regardless the place of performance.

Samini’s image as a musician and most importantly the genre he represents has attracted a lot of people to love dancehall music especially the ladies. It got to a time his female fans especially were complaining about his decision of leaving his beard to grow and that tells how passionate his fans were regarding his image and songs.

Moving on, Samini has grown or improved upon his innate skills depending on the songs he’s released since his inception into the entertainment industry as a musician. He has helped a number of musicians and it is publicly known. But over a year and some months, from my observation, Samini has stuck to just one-way style of music or rhythm in the name of Afro beats that doesn’t depict much of his prowess as compared to the past years of his music career and the WOW factor in Samini isn’t felt anymore.

According to my information gathered, Shatta Wale has swayed Samini away from his path of doing music. This may raise ones eyelash because it may seem to be a factor leading to the dwindling style and relevance of Samini. How? Shatta Wale according to my inferences, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, his plans back into the music industry are gradually affecting Samini based on the grounds of his dissing songs thrown at Samini which was dubbed dancehall beef.

On the other hand, whilst Samini took his precious time responding to or playing according to the Shatta wale’s initiated game plan, Shatta Wale has been massively putting out highly commercial songs that kept on relegating Samini into the back. I once upon a time did a research on how some of our nowadays musicians write their songs and into my face, most of the musicians don’t write songs until they get a beat which was the other way round some years ago but I believe the musician is not limited when he/she writes the song before the beat is produced.

If all readers will bear me out, hip life songs in the 1998 through to the 2008 there about contains much creativity than what we are listening today. This is as a result of technological abuse.

Again, I want to ask this question, does Samini need a temporal break from his music career in order to put things right and bounce back? This question has popped up in this article because from my observation Samini is still pushing hard to become very relevant like he used to be but things are not going the way it is supposed to go for him.

We can all attest to the fact that Samini is a great musician but from my point of view, he is not churning out the best songs he is suppose to give.

I think it’s high time his management tweaked the plans and focus of his career before he plunges himself into the pit of becoming irrelevant to his fans and music lovers in the world.
