Following the government of Ghana’s declaration of every Wednesday as ‘Fugu Day’ to promote and celebrate the country’s unique traditional attire, many Ghanaians, including celebrities and influencers, have taken to social media to showcase their stylish fugu outfits.
The weekly cultural fashion initiative comes in the wake of renewed national interest in the northern fugu (also known as batakari), which gained prominence after President John Dramani Mahama proudly wore the attire during his state visit to Zambia.
