Film Producers Decide On Yvonne Nelson’s Apology

The Film Regulatory Council (FRC) a body set last year to sanitize the Ghana movie industry (Ghallywood), who are responsible for the ban of sexy screen goddess Yvonne Nelson, are yet to decide on the actress’s apology.

The FRC made up of Film Producers Association, Distributors Association, Retailers and Marketers, banned Yvonne last October 2010 based on complains from movie producer Abdul Sallam Mumuni C.E.O of Venus Films Productions over accumulation of several alleged incidents of her disrespectful and rude attitude towards fellow actresses, producers and crew members on location and even when off-camera.

Even though the “Princess Tyra” actress was reluctant to accept her mistakes and duly apologize in the initial stages, she has finally rendered an official apology to producer Abdul Sallam Mumuni of Venus Films Productions and the Film Regulatory Council, after about 9 months of absence from the silver screen.

The FRC have been silent on Yvonne’s apology though they have confirmed receiving her apology letter but credible information available to Peacefmonline.com indicates that the FRC will decide on Thursday July 15 2011, as to whether the actress will be forgiven or she would have to complete her one year ban period.

The Public Relation Officer of the Film Regulatory Council (FRC) Mr. Socrate Safo confirmed this on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” program.

“We have had several meetings on Yvonne’s issue and a lot of very important people in the movie industry have pleaded on her behalf, since she was sidelined last year and even after she brought a letter of apology few weeks ago so we will make a final decision on Thursday July 15, 2011. After next week Thursday, we will make it public if her sideline has been lifted or not but until then her sideline still stands”.

Meanwhile ahead of the FRC’s decision, Abdul Sallam of Venus Film who is in the center of Yvonne’s ban has reportedly forgiven the tall actress. According to the reports, the entire Venus Films Production team have officially forgiven Yvonne Nelson and as soon as the film producers lift her ban, Sallam will use her in his new movie titled ”The Assassins”.

It will be recalled that Peacefmonline.com broke the news last year that Yvonne had been banned for one year because she went ‘mad’ on set and hurled invectives at virtually everybody including Abdul Salam, production manager Roger Quartey, some members of the cast and crew, because she was supposed to shoot a scene with Jackie Appiah, but her colleague actress had absented herself by seeking permission to attend a social event.

Jackie was billed to appear as a guest judge at Miss Malaika 2010 finals which was live on TV. Yvonne therefore refused to shoot the scene alone and even when Jackie was ready, she was still adamant.

Even though Yvonne had been paid in full for her role in the movie, she refused to shoot the rest of the scenes. This left Abdul Sallam no choice than to release the movie without Yvonne in that particular scene, hence her ban. But it is obvious now that the “Heart of Men” actress has regretted her actions.
