First Movie In Dangme Launched In Ada

Adonai Entertainment has launched the first ever movie in Dangme in a grand ceremony at Ada over the week. The movie titled “YE BI YE HE NYELOR” meaning “MY SON MY ENEMY” was produced in the Ada Dialect and transcribe to English.

In a welcome speech the CEO of Adonai Entertainment, Mr. Nii Lartey Ayiku who also doubles as the Executive producer and the director of the movie said most of the movies in the country have all been produced in other languages and the right time has come for the people of the Dangme land to get a movie produced in their own language. He said the movie will among other objectives help to project the image of the sinking Dangme language.

He said as a young man himself, he will also used his movies to promote discipline among the youth. He was also full of praise for the cast in the movie and all those who support the production of the movie which was the first of its kind in Ada.

Mr. Lartey has also called on all to support their production so that they can come out with more movies in the Dangme language that will help to unearth talents and provide jobs for the youth in the district.

The occasion was also used to present a special citation to Nene Pediator (IV) for providing logistics for the crew for the production.

In closing remarks both Nene Pediator (IV) Head of kujlagbe Clan and Professor Alex Kwame the founder of Radio Ada 93.fm have called on the youth to be self discipline and also desist from the use of drugs. They said this movie they believe has been a giant step to projecting the GaAdangme language to the outside world.

They have also called on all the GaAdangme people especially parents not to be shy of their own language and speak their dialect everywhere they find themselves in the world since the Dangme language is gradually sinking.

The chairman for the occasion Nene Kake Peemi (I), the Youth and Development chief for Ada has also called on all to buy the movie to help sustain the production of subsequent movies which will serve as a source of employment for the youth in the district.

The first copy of the movie was purchased at a price of One Thousand Ghana Cedis ( Gh 1000) by Nene Kake Peemi (I).

Other dignitaries who came to witness the launch of the movie includes the Queen mother of Ada Naana Barlekie Kpentey (I), Professor Alex Kwame, Nene Tsatsu Pediator (IV), CEO of Denart Soccer Academy Dennis Narterh Adzigodi, actors and students from the Ghallywood Film Village (School).

The location for the movie was on the beautiful island of Pediatorkopey in Ada.
