The biggest ever gathering of twins is expected to open later this morning. The gathering will be the first ever-national festival of twins.

Hundreds of twins are expected to flood the aviation social centre to showcase the unique features of people of multiple births.

The festival, which also marks the international day for twins, will feature the oldest twins of 87 years old.

There will also be a competition of the most identical, tallest and most interesting twins of Ghana.

The Coordinator of the festival Maya Abou-jaude said the festival will serve as a common ground to address challenges facing twins and mothers of multiple births.

She said though twins are given special attention at birth through the celebration of twin hood rites, that special care is often short-lived.

According to Miss Abou-jaude these issues will be the highlight of the festival.
