Fitter jailed for stealing

Sekondi, Oct. 22, GNA- A Sekondi circuit court on Wednesday sentenced Richard Atitso, a 34-year-old fitter of Pas Timbers in Sekondi, to four years imprisonment with hard labour for stealing 17 saw blades valued at 34 million cedis.

He pleaded guilty.

Police Inspector Kumah Mensah told the court that following rampant stealing at the company's warehouse management decided to conduct investigations.

Atitso confessed to stealing only two of the 17 saw blades that had been stolen from the company's warehouse. The accused told the police that he sold the blades for 250,000 cedis, the prosecution said.
