Four charged with armed robbery

Suhum (E/R), May 28, GNA- Four suspected armed robbers who allegedly attacked a driver and shot his wife in the breast last year have appeared before Suhum Magistrate's court.

Yaw Agbeko, Mensah Ajati alias Rastaman, Eric Adjei, alias "Brother" and Momolotey Sappo, alias Mortey have been remanded in custody.


The pleas of the accused persons were not taken and they would re-appear on June 24.


The Prosecutor told the court that docket on the case have been sent to the Attorney General's Department for advise.

Chief Inspector L.M. Djokoto said that on February 6, last year, the accused persons attacked Mr Daah, the complainant and the wife Comfort at their home at Suhum New town in the night.


He said the robbers armed with guns and other weapons used cement block to break the main door and entered the room of the complainants and on hearing of the accused persons, Comfort raised an alarm.


One of the accused persons then shot Comfort in the right breast and was rushed to the Suhum Government hospital where she was operated. He said the accused persons were arrested at their hideout and identified by the complainants.
