On the 1st of December 2012, a day which will be celebrated Worldwide as World AIDS Day; Kaylers Communications will stage a free HIV\AIDS awareness concert for school children and the general public at the Aviation Social Center in Accra.

The day will witness a variety of HIV\AIDS themed short theatrical displays, music, dance and proclamations by children from selected schools. It will also feature musical performances from some top musicians in Ghana at the moment.

In this month of November, which happens to be the HIV\AIDS awareness month, visits will be made to selected schools to sensitize them about the epidemic and also to inform them about the free concert.

Since the onset of the HIV/AIDS epidemic some 20 years ago, the virus has infected more than 52 million people in the world.

The pandemic has now become the fourth leading cause of mortality and its impact is going to increase. Over 95% of all cases and 95% of AIDS deaths occur in developing world, mostly among young adults and increasingly in women.

Half of all new infections in the world occur in the age group of 10-24. It is estimated that 7,000 young people between 10-20 are infected each day in the world; this is an average of 5 infections a minute!

In Ghana, young people are the most important resource in the country. They are the future of the country and as children learn more through playing, Kaylers Communications believes that creating a fun avenue where these children will learn more about the pandemic from their colleagues and also hear admonishing messages from their star icons will go a long way in sensitizing them and adding to the efforts being made by various organizations where sensitization is concerned.

The children and general public will also get the unique opportunity to take pictures with musical artists. These pictures will be printed for them at the event ground.

RLG Communications, First Capital Plus and Indomie noodles are sponsoring this event with support from Aviation Social Center and the Ghana AIDS Commission.
