Peacefmonline.com Entertainment investigation has revealed that beautiful Television face Frema Ashkar, News Anchor and Broadcast Journalist of “First in News, Best in Entertainment” Television station, TV3 has resigned from the Kanda based TV station.

According to information available to Peacefmonline.com, Frema asked her employers for permission to go on leave but she never returned and rather tendered a resignation letter to the management of the station. A source at TV3 told peacefmonline.com that Frema didn’t show any sign of leaving the station and there is absolutely no reason for her to leave because she had no problem with her bosses at the time she left.

The sweet looking regular Television face confirmed this in an exclusive interview with peacefmonline.com, when she was reached on phone. “Yes it’s true I have resigned from TV3. It is a decision I took and I wanted to act on it at once. I didn’t want to waste time to think about it to perhaps chance my mind”.

According Frema, she personally submitted her resignation letter to the station about two weeks ago and it was supposed to take effect from June 1, 2011. “I have been away for the whole of last month. Apparently I am supposed to be on leave but I am not going back”. Asked what the reason for her sudden resignation is, Frema cited personal reasons.

“I just want to have a little bit of time for my kids. Sometimes it is very difficult because the schedule at TV3 was pretty much heavy so it was becoming a challenge for me to equally share my time between my family and work. So I just told them that I needed some time with my family, and basically that was it”.

Asked if there are other reasons aside the official reason she stated in the letter, Frema who has worked with the station for about four years, said there is no other reason. “I think that sometimes you just need to move on at a point. There was no problem between me and TV3, nothing at all, everything was okay. I just felt I needed to move on”, she professed.

When peacefmonline.com asked her how her employers reacted to her decision, she stressed that they were very surprised because they didn’t see that coming “It came in, pretty much as a surprise and my Human Resources (HR) boss was quite surprised when I gave her the letter but I had decided”.

She denied speculations that she left because another Television station is poaching her for a juicy deal better than what she had at TV3.

“Nobody has poached me. Like I said earlier, I want to have time for my family because I am a young mother and my little son is less than two. So sometimes, going to work the whole day, even on weekends and on holidays, every day I go work and it is sometimes difficult for my husband as well, so I just took time off but if any media house should come up to say that they can work around my time, I could give it a thought. But for now, my kids are my priority so any job that I will be doing now I keep them in mind. My new job has to be something that can also let me have time for the kids”.

The new housewife also said that for now she is taking it easy at home “Presently I am taking things easy, I am okay and happy. I am looking at how my chances are going to be like, and then I move from there”. Asked if she will go back to TV3 if the station offers her a more juicy deal and accepts to go by her time, Frema answered “Why not, I will love to work with TV3. I wrote an application letter to TV3 myself.

I wrote and sent the resignation letter myself. I love my job, there are no two ways about that; it is what I studied in the university. Television, media I love it but for now the working hours do not favor me so if may be the working hours can change among other things, well, I could give it a thought.

TV3 has brought me where I am now and I am very grateful to them because I joined TV3 right after school. It is not easy for big company to give you an opportunity to build a career and a profession right from school but TV3 gave me that platform and I am happy but my work schedule was not helping me. My work and responsibilities at home were always clashing”.

She concluded her interview by saying “I will tell everybody that I am very grateful to everybody who has supported me. I joined the industry not too long ago but I have had a very big fan base and good support from people outside and from my colleagues in the media. It was very heartwarming to see that senior media people like Kwame Safa Kayi was seeing what I was doing and they admired me for that. I thank everyone. It is sad that this time I have to go for a while but I am telling everybody that I am not quitting the media. People shouldn’t be disappointed because I will definitely be back on TV. I can’t tell when it could be days, it could be months or even years but if anything comes up and I have to be on TV, I will be on TV”.

Frema Ashkar started working with TV3 just after she graduated from the University of Ghana. She is happily Married to Lalus Ashkar, a Businessman over threes years and they have two sons (Edwin who is now 5, and the second who is almost 2 years old). She read TV3’s primetime evening news “News 360”, the “News in Brief”. She sometimes hosted the “Divas Show” among other programs on TV3.
