Mikki Osei Berko, covered in powder, at his enstoolment
He has played the roles of a landlord, a father figure and a comic genius on the screens for decades, but now, Mikki Osei Berko has added a new and rather regal title to his name.
The veteran Ghanaian actor, beloved by generations of fans as Master Richard and Dada Boat, was enstooled as an acting chief of Adamorobe, a community in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region, on Friday, April 24, 2026.
He was conferred with the stool name Nana Osei Boakye Yiadom II.
A viral video from the ceremony captured the actor dressed in a fugu paired with shorts as he participated in the customary rites, with two community leaders holding his hands and guiding him to sit on the stool three times, following which the symbolic traditional powder pouring was done on him to signify the completion of the process.
Born in 1973, Mikki Osei Berko built his name and reputation through two iconic TV roles: Master Richard in the beloved series 'Taxi Driver' and the title character in 'Dada Boat,' establishing himself as one of Ghana's most recognisable faces on the screens.
Beyond acting, Osei Berko has worked extensively in radio and advertising.
The enstoolment has drawn widespread congratulations on social media, with fans celebrating a man who has given Ghana some of its most memorable screen moments now taking on the responsibility of serving a community in a very different kind of role.
