Funny Toheeb, the Nigerian comedian who recreates cheap version of celebrity photos has been featured on BBC Africa.
Speaking to BBC, the Instagram sensation whose real name is Toheeb Adodekun Akorede, said his main purpose is to make people happy with his art.
“People laugh, and that is just our main focus of bringing people out of depression, motivation amidst depression," he told the BBC.
“Sometimes when I don’t know what to do with the pictures, I listen to music, then go through the pictures, I’ll kill it (the look).
According to Funny Toheeb, who is also known as Nylon Boy, recreating celebrity photos is a difficult job, as he sometimes spends weeks and even work during the night to get a close enough match.
He revealed that he comes from a modest background and that motivates him to work hard to improve the lives of his family members.
“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon. I actually want to be the person that will change my family story, that’s why I keep working," he says. "Just keep doing and keep thinking outside of the box that’s what my mum used to tell me.”
Some of Toheeb's celebrity photo remakes include Juliet Ibrahim, Toke Makinwa, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid, Laura Ikeji, Yemi Alade and American rapper Cardi B.
