The biggest musical concert on the event’s calendar, “GHANA meets NAIJA” returns in its fourth year, with an even bigger and more exciting package for music fans in both Ghana and Nigeria.

This year’s edition slated for Saturday 24th May 2014 at the Accra International Conference Centre is set to feature performances from Nigeria’s finest acts and from Ghana.

With these set of artistes (Sarkodie, Kcee, Guru, Davido, Castro, Wizboyy), the story of a preempted success is already getting the nation grip. We bring to you an in-depth profile of the acts for the night.

We have already brought to you profiles of Sarkodie and Kcee, now we present that of Guru and Davido.

GURU: GURU, whose birth name is Nana Yaw Adjei Yeboah Maradona, is not a new kid to Ghana rap game. He has over the years churned out hit songs from Obrafuor’s controversial single “Kasiebo”, and one of Ghana’s current trending song ‘Boys Abre’, which he featured the hilarious Lil Wyn.

Guru has brilliant lyrics message which usually cut across and ear friendly to both kids and adults. Songs like “Nkwadaa Nkwadaa” was for the kids, while Mmakuo is targeted at his adult audience, “Lapaz Toyota” for the lovers, “Boys Abre” for all those going through hardship.

In a recent interview he granted, he said, “I only want to share my ideas, opinions and view of whatever it is about this life that influences a large group, how you decide to relate to the songs is your own to decide. I put just a little of my experiences in my song and even most of it.

I won’t talk about the glorious aspect, I will share the downside because already you are famous and people expect things to be a bit easier for you, telling them in every song life is good for you is not fair, let them know you are human and go through hard times too.”

Guru who is rumoured to likely cart away at least three awards at the forth coming Vodafone Ghana Music Award is expected to rock the stage with so much thrills his fans knows him for.

DAVIDO: The “Aye” crooner is set to bring down the roofs of the Accra International Conference Centre with his latest hits which has obviously taking Ghana by storm since its release.

Born David Adedeji Adeleke, is the boss of HKN Music, a recording artist, performer, and record producer. He has churned out various hit songs and also won various awards for his efforts.

Among the awards are Kora Awards, a Channel O Music Video Awards, a Nigeria Music Video Awards, The Headies awards (3), four Nigeria Entertainment Awards, and two Dynamix All Youth Awards, among others.

Songs like “Dami Duro”, “Ekuro”, “Gobe”, “Skelewu”, and current hit single “Aye” will be performed by the Omo Baba Olowo (The son of a rich man) on the night.

As it stands now, the stage is getting ready as this would therefore mean an equal platform to decide ‘WHO IS WHO’ between Nigerian and Ghanaian artistes, taking place at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The 4th edition of ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ is brought to you by the nations’ leading telecommunication network; MTN with support from Unibank - the official sponsor of the Black Stars, and other sponsors such as Smirnoff- World’s no 1 Vodka, Africa World Airlines, Oak Plaza Hotel and Atlas Rent A Car.
