Glo, the African telecommunications giant, has unveiled the ‘Glo Slide & Bounce’ concert series – a unique entertainment package which will feature celebrated Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes in three cities across the country.

This first phase of the series of ‘Glo Slide & Bounce’ engagements in Ghana will take place in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Accra in the Greater Accra Region and Takoradi in the Western Region.

Mr. Akeem Kazeem, Head of Business at Glo Mobile Ghana, told journalists at an unveiling ceremony at the Accra Mall that the ‘Glo Slide & Bounce’ concerts are introduced in Ghana as a token of appreciation for the loyalty of Glo’s customers.

“The introduction of the ‘Glo Slide & Bounce’ concerts is our unique way to salute and celebrate the unflinching loyalty and support we have continued to enjoy from our subscribers and the general public. We felt this is a good way to demonstrate our appreciation by offering a cultural platform which will submerge any drudgery and pressures of daily life and invigorate the people through refreshing social interactions”, he said.

The Glo Head of Business disclosed that because of the company's commitment to enriching the total network experience of its subscribers and also because of the high premium Glo places on customer satisfaction, it has put together the most innovative and exciting promotional package for everybody on the network. He said the ‘Slide & Bounce’ Concerts have come to set the stage for a new promotional product which will excite the market.

“The Glo fun train will slide and bounce through the country from November 9 until November 23, making its very first stop at the Jubilee Park in the Garden City, Kumasi, on November 9. The train will refuel and travel down to Accra on November 16 for the second concert at the Accra Sports Stadium. The ‘Slide & Bounce’ final showdown has been reserved for the people of the harbour city of Takoradi and will happen at the T’ardii Jubilee Park on November 23, 2013”, Akeem disclosed further.

To attend any of the three concerts, subscribers on the Glo network are required to recharge their Glo lines with a minimum of GHS 5.00 either cumulatively or at once, between now and the date slated for the concert in the specific city they intend to attend. After recharging, the subscriber will then text the name of their preferred concert city to the special short code – 5301.

All qualified subscribers will receive a confirmatory SMS invite to the ‘Slide & Bounce’ Concert of their choice and persons or subscribers so invited will be required to show their invitational messages at the gates to receive ‘Slide & Bounce’ wristbands which serves as their gate pass to the concert grounds.? Subscribers can also go to any Glo shop to recharge with GHS 5.00 and collect their wristband.

Glo Mobile Ghana said the Slide & Bounce shows are effectively free because subscribers, after recharging to attend the concerts, can still use their recharged credit for voice calls on the Glo network.

Glo officials explained that customers in the Ashanti Region wishing to be at the Kumasi edition of the concert have to recharge a minimum of GHS 5.00 between now and November 9 and text the word “Kumasi” to the short code 5301 to be able to attend.

Similarly, persons within the Accra Metropolis wishing to attend Accra’s November 16 concert must recharge GHS 5.00 or more and text “Accra” to the short code 5301 between now and the concert date. Subscribers in Sekondi-Takoradi and other parts of the Western Region have from now till November 23 to recharge with GHS 5.00 and text “Takoradi” to the short code 5301.

Each of the three shows will be unique in terms of the artiste line-up and content. Internationally accomplished musicians like P-Square, Africa’s number one rapper - Jude Abaga (aka MI), the bumper-to-bumper crooner - Wande Coal and Burna Boy are all billed to perform along with celebrated Ghanaian artistes like Edem, Kwabena Kwabena, Asem, Efya and Paapa Yankson.

‘Since the Glo ‘Slide & Bounce’ concerts are intended to be enjoyed by all Ghanaians, persons who are not yet on the Glo network but who do not want to be left out of this exciting experience can still join in the fun by simply porting their numbers to the Glo network to enjoy the company’s unlimited offer of thrills and frills’, Mr. Kazeem announced.
