The GN Bank Awards has a new name. The scheme will now be known as GH People’s Celebrity Awards, Enewsgh.com can confirm.
Organizers Spyder Lee Entertainment have effected the change to stay off the controversy that rocked the scheme when it debuted in 2015.
In 2015 a legal tussle between Spyder Lee Entertainment and Evolution International over the name People’s Choice Awards, led to a change to GN Bank awards. The scheme took place subsequently but Spyderlee were left with brand reconciliation issues to solve hence now settling on GH People’s Celebrity Awards.
Organizers say the GH People’s Celebrity awards will seek to award and celebrate individuals and organizations who have contributed as well as those that continue to excel in their various fields, towards the development of the Ghanaian Arts and Entertainment industry.
Spyder Lee Entertainment is part of Groupe Nduom, owned by Businessman/Politician Paa Kwesi Nduom. The firm offers integrated entertainment solutions. They are also into events management and has a music label wing, too, which recently snapped up rapper Tee Phlow.
