Gemann’s prison studio now sodomy den

The much-publicised music studio, operated by a condemned prisoner against regulations at the Nsawam Maximum Security Prisons, has reportedly been turned into a homosexual love nest. The illegally operating Newlife Studio was established last year by Nana Akwasi Agyeman, a.k.a Gemann, who was sentenced to death in 1996 by the Accra High Court for the murder of a taxi driver in a dispute over fare.

The lid on the studio's conversion into a sodomising enclave was blown when one of Gemann's gay sweet hearts, Ebenezer Badger, decided to stop making his anus available for sex and serve the remainder of his five-year-jail sentence with purity, and a peeved Gemann allegedly got vindictive.

Ebenezer, who admits willingly submitting himself for the repeated anal assaults in exchange for promised cash, says he has been so over-abused by Gemann that he now "shits blood". Scandalously, the prison authorities who hushed up the matter and closed down the Newlife Studio, have permitted its re-opening and there is the fear that further atrocities would be carried out there.

intelligence at the Maximum Security Prison reports that Gemann, angry at his male lover's rejection, framed charges of escape against Ebenezer who had by then gained the right to go outside the prison daily for work.

The false allegation against Ebenezer brought about the termination of his gang work. Outside gang work, which is granted prisoners who have served three months and above, enables them to earn some money and get fresh vegetables with which they improve the watery prison soup.

Our investigations further revealed that Ebenezer, who felt betrayed and cheated by his ex-lover, broke down in tears and decided to spill the beans on their homosexual escapades and other goings on in the studio to the third-in-Command at the prisons, Chief Superintendent Rabbles.

further learnt that when the Chief Superintendent invited him to his office late last year, the prisoner, however, refused to talk, unless his mother or another member of the Badger family or an independent and trusted officer was present to witness to his "sermon".

But after several hours of persuasion and assurances by Chief Supt. Rabbles, the prisoner gave in and broke his hot news.

Ebenezer, according to deep throat, alleged that Gemann on countless occasions sodomised him in the studio and that it became a regular sex game between him and his new found lover. He claimed Gemann promised him a big share of the proceeds from the album whose recording the studio was opened to facilitate.

Ebenezer again reportedly told the Nsawam third-in-command that Gemann also used to have sexual intercourse with a female prison officer (name withheld) who used to visit the studio on the pretext of making a musical demo.

Sources said any time the lady warder visited the studio, all others were asked by Gemann to leave the studio so that he could have "discussions" with the female officer. We learnt that immediately after Ebenezer had narrated the full story to the third-in-command, the officer allegedly warned him not to reveal his apo to any other prison officer or the inmates.

Prison sources said Ebenezer Badger's anus has been so 'screwed' by Gemann to the extent that he eases blood whenever he visits the toilet. The studio, which was closed down temporarily, has since been opened but excluding Ebenezer and it is now under the direct supervision of two prison officers.

A concerned officer at the prison told that they were all aware of the practices going on at the studio but could not say anything about it.

"We dared not say anything about this Germann's behaviour. Even at times he insulted some of us; it is not permitted in any of our prison Standing Orders, that a prisoner should establish his personal industry at the prison; yet our top officials have illegally permitted this business for reasons best known to themselves", the concerned officer added.

A discharged inmate told that there has been no change in Gemann to warrant the governmental pardon that commuted his death sentence to life imprisonment.

"He had not even served eight years in prison at the time, yet he has been pardoned with all this bad behaviour, while others in the Condemned Cell whose lives are far better than Gemann are still languishing in there", he alleged.

Meanwhile, all efforts to contact the officer-in-charge at the prisons to either deny or confirm the story proved futile on Wednesday as he refused to talk to any pressman even though had earlier told the Chief Security man at the main gate the purpose of the visit.

After several hours of waiting, this reporter was told by an officer, who claimed to be the OIC's right hand man, that his boss said it was unfortunate he could not talk to but referred us to Prison Headquarters, which from our sources are totally unaware of the whole story.
