Head of Communications for Charterhouse Ghana, organizers of the Ghana Music Awards, George Quaye is still in hot waters for his bribery claim against gospel musicians.

The latest people to add their voice to the issue is a group called Concerned Radio Presenters. Spokesperson for the association, Michael Boateng popularly known as Mike 2 speaking to Zionfelix on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch entertainment show said PRO for the entertainment house and board members of the awards must resign for the bribery comments.

He explained that accepting bribe is illegal in the country so they have to voluntarily leave their job for others to investigate the issue. The host of Adom FM’s entertainment show rubbished George Quaye’s apology asking Ghanaians to give deaf ears to the plea because it does not refute the bribery claim he made on live TV.

"George Quaye just made the bribery claim but he never said whether he acepted it or not so he must resign. We never knew people pay or attempt to pay bribe so he has to mention names of such people. It is illegal to pay bribe in the country so they have to call for the arrest of such people.

For the board members, they take the final decision after the public has voted so if their final decision is influenced by bribe, then they have to also resign for investigation” Mike 2 told Zionfelix.

He also asked gospel musicians to boycott the music awards until Charterhouse House, organisers of the awards prove the bribery allegation because they have disgraced the gospel music industry.

The PRO for Concerned Radio Presenters stated that George Quaye’s assertion has confirmed comments from the general public that the annual music awards is not credible.

Asked what they will do if George Quaye and VGMAs board members do not resign as they wish, Mike 2 replied Zionfelix that their next action will be communicated later.
