Ghallywood Stars Snub Nadia Buari

Some popular faces in Ghanaian movies and close friends of Nadia Buari, refused to turn up at her big day over the weekend to support the celebration of Nadia’s prospects in the movie industry.

Peacefmonline investigations revealed that they were all in Ghana as at the time and were all invited. The event was meant to honuor and recognize Nadia’s achievements and her contribution to social responsibility projects, and the least her friends could do was to support her but they acted on the contrary.

Instead, Nollywood stars flew all the way from Nigeria in their numbers to support the “Check Mate” actress.

Dakore Egbuson, Emeka Enyiocha, Benita Enzeribe, Francis Duru, Kalu Ikeugwu, Uche Jumbo, Stephnora and some Nigeria producers and directors were on hand to honour Nadia and stayed through the night until the event was over.

However, some Ghallywood stakeholders like: Abdul Sallam Mumuni of Venus Film, actor Ekow Smith Asante, Vivian Achor, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, Martha Ankomah Senanu Gbedawo, Fred Nuamah and Selase Ibrahim came to support Nadia.

The “Showbiz Honours” night which was supposed to start at 8pm, began at about 10:30pm. A short documentary titled “The Journey of Nadia Buari” was projected. A song for Nadia “She is a Star” by Ethel of TV3 Mentor fame ushered the actress who appeared in a green straight dress decorated with blinks at about 11:20pm.

Nadia addressed the guests and expressed her appreciation to the organizers for doing her such a great honour.

Goodwill messages were delivered by her father, Alhaji Sidiku Buari, Vice President John Mahama, Reggie Rockstone, her brothers Sadiq and Majid and Obour. Nadia changed her dress three times and she looked elegant in all three dresses.

Great performances were put up by "Ruff and Smooth", "Nana Borro", "Nii and I-Wane", "Sadiq and Majid" to spice up the night. Nadia Buari was honoured with a crystal plaque and a citation, an official limousine to chauffeur her to any social event for a year, a makeover of her bathroom by Vaniado, free supply of purified water and drinks from REDS.

A big birthday party will be thrown for her for the next three years by REDS, an all expenses paid trip to any location of her choice in any part of the world, a seed money of GH¢1,500 to start an NGO by First Capital Plus, the supply of sanitary pads for a year by Pretty lady sanitary pads among other things.

This is the maiden edition of the “Showbiz Honour” which will be an annual event to honour showbiz personalities in Ghana.
