Ghana@59: JJ goes ‘Achimotan’

Former President Jerry John Rawlings bucked the trend at Ghana’s 59th Independence Day anniversary celebrations at the Black Stars Square, where he turned up in an Achimota School ceremonial wear.

It is unclear whether the country’s longest ruler was on his way to or from a ceremony of his alma mater.

But as most of the invited statesmen were spotting national wears or, at most, neutral wears, President Rawlings flaunted that of Achimota School.

His wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, whom he met at the same school, was, however, in a resplendent scarlet wear.
