Ghana Actors Guild President Wins International Position

The president of the Ghana Actors Guild, Mr. Samuel Nii Odoi Mensah has been re-elected for the second time into the high office of the Federation of international Actors as the Executive Coordinator for the Africa sub-region branch (Afro-FIA).

His exaltation into this high office came as a result of the international bodies of the federation recognizing the good works been done by Ghana Actors Guild. Nii Odoi expressed satisfaction that the few years the Guild joined the federation, our membership nominal role shut up from five hundred to thousand two hundred(500-1200) within three year which is great achievement.

Federation of international actors (FIA) is made up of over one hundred (100) affiliated member countries across the globe.FIA seeks to promote the well being of actors worldwide, in due recognition of the active role the Guild Association of Ghana is playing both local and international level for the sustainability of the industry, has necessitated me been voted into this office.

This honor was made feasible when the Afro-FIA presented it’s by -annual report at the congress which was held in Canada this year from 25th-30th September 2012. Mr. Odoi Mensah explained that though this is not his first time of assuming this high office, it is an honor and a new glory dawn not on him as a person but the Guild as an Association and Ghana as a country for been recognized at the international front.

The president expressed a little dissatisfaction about people’s thinking saying, “we are just occupying the position but do virtually nothing. We are really working, those whose only job is to raise insults at us should rather get closer and see what we are doing or better still come with their innovative ideas to support the guild, we want the guild to move forward “stressed president.”

He expressed his appreciation to the member body of FIA for having hope in me and entrusting into my hand for the second time this office, they’ve been a source help to the Guild Association of Ghana; notable of the federation linking us internationally to the equity United kingdom (U K) which took THE GUILD into two weeks advocacy and training program at Miklyn hotel. New branch of the Guild was inaugurated in eastern and western region.

Volta region will be inaugurated in November 2012, which we’ll be honored to have the vice president of the FIA worldwide and his able assistant to guest the inauguration ceremony at the VOLTA REGION. Mr. Samuel Nii Odoi Mensah therefore call on all members and new one to becoming for the Associations meetings, because united we build, he also stretching his hands for the stars to come on board, if everybody was to do his personal works without paying any attention to the Guild then how will the Guild survive, let us try and leave legacy for the generation yet to come so they can tag us with good names.

Nii, who couldn’t let his heart rest, also descended heavily on the press that, the journalist should be cautious of the kind of stories they publish; “they should investigate properly into a story before publishing, not to publish one sided story that is poor work done. As a professional journalist you should be circumspect in your dealing.”
