Ghana and Nigerian celebrities are set to battle in a real 'war' of the stars for the first time as organisers are set to unveil nominees for the maiden edition of Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards.
Nominees from the entertainment industries in both countries will slug it out in different categories to be announced at a classy House Party in Accra on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
The gig, which will also mark the official launch of the awards holds at Paparazi Lounge, East Legon Accra and will kick-off with a Gold Carpet session for celebrities at 8pm. The party will trend live across all social media platforms.
The Ghana-Nigeria Showbiz Awards, according to organisers, is basically set out to build a stronger bridge to link the vast opportunities that lies in the collaboration between entertainment industries in Nigeria and Ghana.
The two countries-undoubtedly plays a significant role in entertainment industry in Africa, while collaboration between the two countries is expected to further boost the fortune of entertainment industry players in the West Africa region.
According to Tope Aileru, CEO of Blue Synergy Media, organisers of Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards: The project is to further cement the existing relationship between the entertainment practitioners in the two countries; thereby bolstering the move to make this part of the world - the entertainment hub of Africa.
The award is to identify, recognize and honour practitioners and industry players in the entertainment sectors in the two countries who have done exceptionally well, with a view to encouraging them to do more to make the industry bigger and better.
The event is tagged: “Celebrating Africa’s Biggest Entertainment Collaboration”.
The grand finale, which will see stars from Ghana joining their colleagues in Nigeria coming together in one night, will hold in Lagos on May 14, 2016.
