CEO of Asuoden Music, Pope Skinny in an interview with Zylofon radio has asserted that rap in Ghana is dead but he’ll put measures in place to resurrect the ailing field of music.
According to the rapper who used to host “Kasahare Level” on Adom FM, it’s as a result of the ailing state of rap in Ghana that’s why the likes of Sarkodie, Kofi Kinata, Yaa Pono, et al. have been singing instead of rapping.
“Rap is dead in Ghana. We can no longer sell rap. Because of this, Ghanaian rappers have turned to singers.”, he said.
But the good news is that Pope Skinny referred to himself as the messiah of rap in Ghana, claiming he can bring rap back to life.
He says if he is reinstated as host of “Kasahare level” show on Adom FM, he will play a significant role to restore the lost glory of rap in Ghana to the satisfaction of music enthusiasts.
